Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SplitIt (“SplitIt”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our web application at trysplitit.com (the “Service”). SplitIt is a tool that turns goals into visual, AI-generated step-by-step plans. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your name, email address, and login credentials. We do not store your password ourselves.
  • Project content. The goals, steps, descriptions, and notes you create in the Service are stored so we can provide it back to you.
  • Usage data. We track AI-split usage for plan limits and first-party activity such as project creation/opening, splits, and completed steps to operate the Service and understand whether features are useful.
  • Email and preference data. We keep an email contact record, delivery history, your optional reminder/product-email choice, and unsubscribe preference so we can honour your choices.
  • Referral source. If you reach us through a marketing or referral link, we may record which channel it was (for example, “snapchat”) and attach it to your account when you sign up, so we can measure which channels work. This is a short text label only — it contains no information about you and is not used for cross-site tracking. We do not set any advertising cookies to collect it.
  • Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card details — Stripe handles all card data. We store a customer/subscription identifier and your plan status.
  • Technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) generated when you access the Service.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • To generate AI-powered sub-steps from the content you create.
  • To process subscriptions and enforce plan limits.
  • To communicate with you about your account and the Service, including verification and security messages. We send optional lifecycle and product emails only when you choose to receive them; those messages may include a project title or next step so they are useful.
  • To secure the Service and prevent abuse.

3. AI processing of your content

When you use the “splitit” feature, the relevant content of your project (the goal and the surrounding step hierarchy) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate sub-steps. This processing is necessary to deliver the core feature of the Service. We do not use your content to train AI models. Anthropic states that it does not use commercial API inputs or outputs for training by default; it processes the content to return the requested result.

Please do not include medical, mental-health, financial-account, government-ID, or other highly sensitive personal information in goals or project context. SplitIt is not a medical or mental-health service.

4. Third-party services (sub-processors)

We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service. Each processes data only as needed:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • Anthropic — AI generation of sub-steps from your project content.
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
  • Railway — application hosting and database infrastructure.
  • Resend — delivery of lifecycle and product emails.
  • Upstash QStash — scheduling of lifecycle-email jobs.
  • Umami — privacy-focused, cookieless product analytics.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data retention

We retain account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a project, it is removed from our systems. If account deletion is enabled in our identity provider, we delete associated first-party project, activity, contact, and email-log records when we receive its deletion event. You can also request account deletion at the contact address below. We may keep records we are legally required to retain, such as billing records.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can decline optional SplitIt emails during sign-up or unsubscribe from any email. You can manage or delete most of your data directly in the app, or contact us at tppeleg@gmail.com to make a request.

7. Cookies

We use cookies necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service securely (set by our authentication provider). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Where enabled, Umami provides cookieless analytics using aggregated technical and usage information.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the sub-processors listed above. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the Service.

12. Contact
